Here is a recent news update about Amazons new cloud player.
Basically it is a new service being provided by Amazon to its users, enabling them to either purchase a sign from Amazon and secure it on Amazons virtual cloud drive or upload a song from your own music library onto the cloud drive and play the stored songs as and when you want. The amazon cloud drive offers 5GB of free storage to its users and each additional GB cost $1. Pretty cool eh?
Is this the new direction that web 2.0 is heading in? We saw it in the work sphere, with cloud computing and services….and now entertainment too.
Why is this important?
BECAUSE Amazon is turning itself itself into a one stop shop for buying, storing and playing not only music, but also movies…remember their new VOD (Video on Demand) service?
